The summary below comes straight from how the dashboard treats the `trial` plan today. ## What's Included in Your Trial Your trial starts with **200 free credits** so you can run a small real event end-to-end. Upload, sync, process, brand, and search photos using the full 9Pic Photos workflow. 9Pic FaceFind (selfie search) and 9Pic BibTrack (BIB number search) work on your trial gallery. Invite teammates so onboarding isn't blocked on one account. Trial accounts get the same email response as Pro and Enterprise. A real, working event link you can open and test yourself — for **internal evaluation only** (see the warning below). ## What's Gated Until You Upgrade These are the limits the dashboard actually enforces on a trial account: | Limit | What it means | How to remove it | | ----------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Events stay **private** | Trial events are not listed publicly. The Platform Visibility setting on **Create New Event** is locked to **Private**. | Upgrade to **Pay As You Go** or **Pro**. | | Only the **Photos** product | Creative tools like Certify, Flow, Select, Buzz, and Motion are not enabled on trial. | Upgrade to **Pro** (most creative tools) or **Enterprise** (everything, including Checkout). | | **Checkout** is not available | You cannot sell event photos online during the trial. | **Enterprise** plan only. | | **Payment Config** and **Developer Zone** | Payment gateway setup and API keys are gated. | **Enterprise** plan only. | | Custom domain | Custom event domain (`photos.yourevent.com`) is a Pro feature. | Upgrade to **Pro**. | None of the above limits stop you from running a useful test event. They only matter once you're ready to make a paid event public, sell photos, or integrate 9Pic into your own apps. ## Your Trial Domain (`trial.9pic.ai`) This is the most important rule on this page. Read it carefully — it changes how you should share your trial event. Every trial account is assigned the shared domain **`trial.9pic.ai`** the moment you sign up. This is **not** your future event website. It's a shared evaluation surface used by every organiser on the trial plan. **Do not share your trial event link with end users, real participants, or customers.** The trial domain runs behind anti-abuse rules. Real participants opening the link at event-day volumes will be **blocked** by our protections — we cannot whitelist the trial domain for individual events. The trial event link is for **internal evaluation only**: you, your teammates, and people you've explicitly added to your organisation. ### What the trial domain does and does not do | Behaviour | On `trial.9pic.ai` | On `app.9pic.ai` (after upgrade) | | -------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------- | | Lists your events publicly on the domain home page | No — the trial domain home page is intentionally empty for everyone. | Yes — your events show up after Go Live. | | Photo search (FaceFind, BibTrack) works | Yes, but **rate-limited** for anti-abuse. | Yes, full production limits. | | Suitable for real participant traffic | **No.** Real volume gets blocked. | Yes — designed for it. | | Visible to search engines | No — discouraged. | Yes (subject to your settings). | | Custom domain (e.g. `photos.yourevent.com`) | Not available. | Available on Pro and Enterprise. | ### Your event stays private — and stays that way after upgrade When you create an event on the trial, **Platform Visibility** is locked to **Private** in the dashboard. You cannot make a trial event publicly listed. **Upgrading does not automatically flip your trial event to public.** Existing trial events stay **Private** even after you upgrade to Pay As You Go or Pro. You have to explicitly change the visibility yourself, on the event you want to publish. ### What changes when you upgrade If you upgrade your trial to **Pay As You Go**, **Pro**, or **Enterprise**, your organisation's domain is moved off the shared `trial.9pic.ai` surface to **`app.9pic.ai`** (or a custom subdomain on Pro / Enterprise). From that moment: * Your event link starts working at the new domain. * Anti-abuse protections drop to normal production limits — real participants can use the link. * You can flip individual events from Private to Public on demand. See [Upgrade Your Plan](/trial-guide/upgrade) for the exact flow and [Compare Plans](/trial-guide/compare-plans) for the side-by-side. ## How Your Free Credits Work * 1 photo processed = 1 credit consumed. * Processing includes uploading, AI search indexing, and watermarking with 9Pic Stamp. * Re-running **Sync Images** for the same photo doesn't double-charge — only new photos consume credits. * When you run out of credits, processing pauses. You'll see a notice on the event's overview tab. 200 credits is enough for a small real event (a club run, a school sports day, a single photographer's photo booth) or a generous test gallery (a few hundred sample photos). If you want to test on a larger event, see [Upgrade Your Plan](/trial-guide/upgrade). **Storing originals consumes more credits.** If you turn on **Store Original Memories** when creating the event, originals are kept and counted toward usage. Leave it off while you're just exploring. ## What Happens If You Don't Upgrade * Your trial account doesn't disappear when credits run out — your event data stays. * You can come back, add credits with **Pay As You Go**, and your existing event will pick up where it left off. * See [Compare Plans](/trial-guide/compare-plans) for what changes after you upgrade. ## Next Steps Use the included credits to create and publish a real event.
