# Publishing Failed

> Fix issues that prevent your event from being published (going live).

## Symptoms

* The **Publish** button is disabled.
* You clicked **Publish** and it failed.
* You see a message mentioning AI Image Analysis or rotation.

## Why Publish Is Gated

Publish (also called "going live") only works after **Step 3 — Process Photos** has processed at least some photos. If processing isn't done, the Publish card stays locked.

## Fix Steps

    On **9Pic Photo → Overview**, complete Sync Images (Step 2) and Process Photos (Step 3) before Publish (Step 4).

  <Step title="Check for a failed step">
    Look for a failed step or warning in the pipeline cards and retry that step. If processing paused, check your [credit balance](/dashboard-guide/credits).

  <Step title="If it mentions rotation, open AI Analysis">
    When Publish fails on rotated photos, the card shows **Open AI Analysis** (fix orientations) and **Skip AI Analysis** (publish anyway). See [Rotation issues](/dashboard-guide/troubleshooting/rotation-issues).

<Note>
  Once published, the Publish card shows **RePublish**, **Unpublish**, and **Open event** so you can re-publish after changes or take the event offline.
